FLORIDA BAR BOARD CERTIFICATION:
OUR COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE
Langston Hess is committed to the highest levels of excellence, professionalism, and ethics in the representation of its clients. That is why 75% of its shareholders are “Board Certified” by the Florida Bar, as compared to just 5% of all Florida lawyers. Certification is the highest level of recognition given by The Florida Bar for competency and experience within an area of law, and identifies the designated lawyer as having special knowledge, skill, and proficiency in the area in which he or she is certified. In fact, certified attorneys are the only lawyers permitted to identify or advertise themselves as “experts” or “specialists” in their given fields.
Minimum requirements for certification include:
- A minimum of five years in law practice
- A satisfactory showing of substantial involvement in the field of law for which certification is sought
- A passing grade on the examination required of all applicants
- Satisfactory peer review assessment of competence in the specialty field, as well as character, ethics, and professionalism in the practice of law Satisfaction of the certification area’s continuing legal education requirements
While not all qualified lawyers are certified, those who are Board Certified have taken the
extra step to have their competence and experience recognized.
